The scientific revolution of the twentieth century gave us the sciences of relativity, quantum theory, astronomy, and cosmology, and those sciences have given us considerable understanding of the structure and functioning of the universe.
The best selling Seven Brief Lessons on Physics was written by Italian physicist Carlo Rovelli in order to introduce average persons to the concepts of modern science and to some of the problems that remain to be solved.
The lessons will be discussed by Dr. John Schug on seven consecutive Wednesdays (7:00 PM in Murray Hall) beginning on May 10, 2017. Students of all ages are welcome. The presentation should be basic and entertaining as well as informative.
