November 3, 2018
“Morganton’s Largest Community Cultural Event”
It’s not just another Festival…it is authentic food, dance and demonstrations from countries whose families have handed down traditions for generations. This is a festival you will want to attend hungry and anticipate the experiences that will inspire all your senses. Everyone is invited to St. Charles Borromeo 17th Annual Parish Food Festival, Saturday November 3, 11:00am-3:00pm.
It’s the opportunity to enjoy an afternoon milling around from booth to booth tasting a variety of foods from 18 countries, while enjoying performances by Hmong, African, Guatemalan and Mexican dancers! Delight in the symmetry of the Guatemalan ladies making tortillas or Madam Bourg frying up French crepes to order. Sample traditional polish pirogues and Aunt Sophie’s famous recipes for golumpkis and sauerkraut. Take a peak in the kitchen to see a crowd of ladies hand making over 2000 eggrolls (and there will be not one left). Jump in line early for the kibbeh, tabbouleh and baklava from Lebanon; tandoori chicken and samosas from Indian and pupusas from El Salvador. And that’s just a start!
