Wednesday, March 6th is the first day of Lent. We have a challenge for you! Each day of Lent, remove one item from your closet that you no longer need or wear, and put it into a trash bag. At the end of Lent, donate these items to an organization that can share them with someone in need.
Thank you and God Bless!

Minutes of the Parish Pastoral Council meeting: January 7, 2019.
Once again, our Council shined for the poor. Under strict time limits and rules, we collected just under half a ton of food for $162! As we do twice a month, three members drove their trucks to the Second Harvest warehouse in Hickory where we shopped, loaded up, and returned to church. With a little help, we hauled the 938 pounds of food down the stairs to the food pantry locker. Then, thanks to Bruce and Jeanne Messing, the food was sorted and the food pantry shelves stocked…ready for distribution.
Thank you Knights (and helpers) and thank God for his glory.

Finance report to parishioners for the period ending December 2018.
Every year during Lent, the Worship and Liturgy Commission organizes a simple meal before the 7PM Stations of the Cross. We would like to invite any parishioners who would like to prepare and serve a meal to put your name on the sign up sheet on the
bulletin board. Often, a group of people organize the meal. The dates for the meals are March 8, 15, 22, 29, April 6 and 13. Plan to start serving at 6:15 pm and prepare food for about 30 people. Please keep the meal simple.
We would like to extend our deepest condolences to Scott and Lori Hager and family on the death of their son, Benjamin Joseph Hager, who died Jan. 19, 2019. Scott and his parents, Frank and Linda Hager, are former parishioners of St. Charles. A perpetual
scholarship to benefit top swimmers is being set up in Benjamin’s name.
