|Maureen Dougher and Margie Henry are donating eggs to about 33 families that have lost their income. The demand is too much for the hobby chicken farmers’ output of eggs. So, if you would like to help, put $5.00 in an envelope and mail it to Maureen at 2197 Zion Rd, Morganton, NC 28655. She will in turn purchase eggs and deliver them to those in need. Thanks for your generosity and compassion.|
Starting today, March 31, soup kitchen volunteers do not need to go to BUCM as arrangements have been made for a different group to prepare and plate meals for carryout distribution. This is temporary and will be re-evaluated on April 30. Thanks. Steve Schoeberle
I wish to express the warmest and deepest thanks and appreciation to all our congregation for making our Baby Bottles Drive such a success. On Friday, our Council of Knights of Columbus through St. Charles in Morganton, gave a donation of just over $1,600 to the Burke County Pregnancy Care Center in Drexel. Through your generous donations and alms giving, We’ve now donated over $4,000 in the last 3 years. These monies will be used to clothe, feed, and provide medical care and support to both expectant mothers and their babies. The center has an ultrasound machine that shows expectant mothers their unborn baby. They provide counseling to women to give options to abortion should an unexpected pregnancy occur. It’s through donations such as yours that provides that support through centers like the Pregnancy Care Center.
Many thanks and blessings to you all,
TJ Robinson, Grand KnightCouncil 9579, Morganton, NC
