Parish Administration

Helping the parish of St. Charles Borromeo run efficiently requires the efforts of many volunteers. You are invited to participate in any of the following activities and/or committees.

Bookstore – Open on Saturday and Sundays after Mass.  Catholic books, rosaries, jewelry, and sacramental gift items are for sale. Contact Janet Franklin if you would like to assist.

Building and Grounds Committee – Responsible for maintaining and improving St. Charles’ church buildings and properties. Chairman: Alan Brown, 828-437-1392.

Finance Council –  Assists the pastor in the administration of Parish temporal matters.  The Finance Council supports the pastor in his stewardship of Parish resources while being accountable to Parishioners and to the Bishop.  They promote the financial health of the Parish while assuring accountability and adherence to norms established by the Bishop.  They provide support to the Parish bookkeeper and oversee financial activities.

The Finance Council is responsible for developing the parish budget and communicating it to the Parish community.  They prepare and communicate the mid-year and the year-end financial reports to the Parish community and to the Bishop. They conduct oversight review of the financial records to ensure consistency between financial transactions, financial records and the resulting financial statements. The pastor seeks the advice of Finance Council members on administrative matters and on long-range financial planning issues.

Finance Council Chairman – Bill Schroeder.
